Cale Fragranze D’autore
Italy
At the dawn of the last century, the history of the Cale company began, then Giuseppe Casolari, the grandfather of the current president of the company, opened a beauty and hairdressing salon in Milan.
Senor Casolari, around 1926, moved his business to Florence, the center of intellectual and secular life at that time. A beauty goods store was opened there, which focused on the wealthy class of townspeople and the aristocracy. In just a few years, the store has gained enough fame and a good reputation.
In 1930, Milan became the financial and industrial "heart" of Italy and Giuseppe decided to return. The accumulated Florentine experience and acquired chic brought the newly opened salon incredible popularity. Even the Queen of Italy herself, when she visited Milan, preferred to look into this salon. Teaming up with his brothers, Giuseppe Casolari moved the salon to Via Montenapoleone, the most famous and prestigious shopping street, and by 1938 the salon had become the most famous in Milan.
The salon moved back to Werry Street after the war, where perfumers managed to revive interest in rare and ancient fragrances. Cale was officially founded in 1955. Constant loyalty to the traditions of quality, passion and love for their work, the desire to create new fragrances - all this has helped to preserve the beautiful examples of perfumery art available to a select circle of true connoisseurs. Silvio Levi, Giuseppe Casolari's grandson, became the heir to the company, the improvement and development of which became his life's work. Each fragrance of Cale Fragranza D'Autore is inspired by a fragment of history, emotions and a flash of memories.
These stories were a kind of guiding thread for the "nose" that created them.

Silvio Levi - having received a serious chemical and pharmaceutical education, having devoted several years to research and writing dissertations, in 1995 he nevertheless left science and joined the management of the family business, taking the company to a new stage of development.

Perfume guru, "master of fragrances", who is currently one of the main authorities of the European perfume market, Silvio turned out to be not only a talented perfumer, but also a successful businessman. To date, he is the author of numerous fragrances, the organizer of the largest international perfume exhibitions Esxence, Pitti Immagine, Cosmoprof, as well as the official representative of a number of the largest perfume houses in the European market. Cale's distribution portfolio includes brands such as Creed, Parfums d'Orsay, Floris, Gentlemen's Tonic, D.R. Harris, Humietski & Graef, Kent, Knize, Les Nez, Lostmarc’h, Marc Buxton, Rigaud, Taylor of Old Bond Street, Truefitt & Hill.

A big name is a high bar. The more famous you are, the higher the level of responsibility. It was only after accumulating vast practical experience and an impressive body of theoretical knowledge that Silvio finally decided to realize his cherished dream – to create his own fragrance line – a collection of ten perfume compositions by Cale Fragranza D'Autore.

A close–knit team of true fans of their business is the key to success in any field. Perfumery is no exception. Having started developing a personal fragrance collection, Silvio Levi turned for help not just to colleagues, but to long–time friends Maurizio Cerizza and Mark Buxton (creator of the famous Comme des garcons fragrances). Taking on the role of a screenwriter who defines the essence of a perfume composition, he assigned them the duties of directors responsible for the implementation of their ideas.

Maurizio Cerizza has lived among the aromas of essential oils since childhood. His father Aurelio worked for EMA, one of the few Italian companies to process and extract essential oils. Maurizio Cerizza created his first author's hit in 1986. Over the past twenty years of his career, he has gained international fame and is the author of more than ninety perfumes.
