The story of La Mer began with the fact that Dr. Max Huber set out to transform his skin after an accident in the laboratory, as a result of which he received burns. After 12 years and 6,000 experiments, he created the legendary Miracle Broth elixir by fermenting brown seaweed and other ingredients. This cell-renewing elixir formed the basis of the Crème de la Mer moisturizer, which visibly transforms the skin.

Brown algae is harvested by hand in the purest waters on the coast of Vancouver Island. This is how we preserve the ecosystem for future generations. Giant seaweed has an incredible ability to regenerate. They became the basis of the Miracle Broth elixir.
