Freshly spicy pink pepper introduces Rosso I with fruity brightness and an aromatic edge. Its floral-oriental profile is built around the contrast between a vivid opening, a deep rose heart and the substantial woody character of oud.
Damask rose occupies the centre of the composition, bringing full-bodied floral depth with spicy and softly almond-like nuances. Oud supports the base with smoky, resinous and fruity facets, giving the fragrance a dense finish while preserving the clarity of the rose.
Released in 2018, Rosso I forms part of Valmont’s Storie Veneziane collection and was created by perfumer Richard Ibanez. Its extrait de parfum concentration gives the concise three-note structure a rich and sustained presence.
The composition moves from crisp spice into a more rounded floral texture before settling into a pronounced woody base. Pink pepper maintains energy around the rose, while oud adds weight and persistence without overwhelming the central floral accord.
Named after a red pigment used by Murano glassmakers, Rosso I is presented in a bottle featuring a Murano glass mask designed by Didier Guillon and handcrafted by master glassmaker Leonardo Cimolin. A leather-trimmed cap completes the presentation.
