In the summer of 2001, when Cologne Bigarade was launched, Jean-Claude Ellena could not have imagined that this new fragrance by Editions de Parfums would revolutionize colognes. Cologne Bigarade was an undoubted success, but some customers hoped to see a more intense version of this composition with a milder fragrance. In short, they wanted to get an eau de toilette with the same refined freshness.
Having reviewed the traditions of Editions de Parfums, according to which each fragrance exists only in one form, Frederic Malle and Jean-Claude Ellena tried different variants and decided that increasing the concentration from 4 to 12.5% would create a highly unusual and interesting combination.
The result is a completely new fragrance of exceptional persistence. Its natural freshness is a favorable contrast to popular and often banal compositions.
