The dinner was even more wonderful than expected and they were in a wonderful mood to plunge into the middle of a night of revelry with spicy hints of nutmeg and saffron. The air, filled with the breath of roses, was still warm, the public crowded around the bars, enjoying the pulse of life that was in full swing on this fashionable street, full of new people, pleasures and the scent of leather. The lights and reflections of passing cars were like the sparkling black sea waves hitting the shore with sparkling foam, like champagne, rich in woody and musky shades. It seemed like the whole world belonged to the two of them.
