The history of the brand goes back a long way. It all started about 200 years ago in London. In 1820, the famous French perfumer, being a student of the professional in creating fragrance compositions of the Empress Josephine, became the manager of a perfume shop in London. By 1834, he, together with his 14-year-old son, opened his own store. This is how the House of Rimmel was founded. By the age of 24, his son, Eugene Rimmel, had become an expert in perfumery and cosmetics. After his death, the “empire” went to two heirs, who brought their father’s business to the international level through revolutionary eye cosmetics and mascara.
